| Worshop on Bhagwad Gita Chapter VIII From 6th to 13th Jan 2008, faculty of Chinmaya Mission, Br. Ashok Chaitanya conducted a one week Oriya workshop on Bhagavad Gita Chapter VIII. 57 Members of the programme participated in the detail discussion of the chapter every day for 5 hours and alongside had an analysis on Adi Sankara's text, Sadhana Panchakam, in the mornings one hour. Workshop on Bhagwad Gita and Upanishad From 16th to 22nd Jan 2008, a group from Bangalore, under the guidance of Brni. Keerti Chaitanya and Brni. Deepti Chaitanya, organized learning Bhagavad Gita Chapter IV and Amrita Bindu Upanishad along with Dohas of Sant Kabir. The one week long programme inspired the 48 members to go deeper into Vedanta and learn more from it. Sadhana Panchakam Workshop The famous text of Adi Sankaracharya, Sadhana Panchakam was taken up for discussion by a group of 33 members from Kolkata under the leadership of Swami Advaitananda for 3 days from 27th to 29th Jan 2008. Workshop on Indian Philosophy Swamini Umananda of Chinmaya Mission, Paris and Swami Advayannada conducted the session on Indian Philosophy with special reference to Advaita Vedanta. About 20 French Nationals participated in the workshop from 7th to 12th Feb, 2008. Upanishad Lahiri Workshop A one month long Upanishad workshop of Swamini Niranjanananda was conducted from Feb 1st to March 2nd 2008. 35 members from around the country participated. The Upanishads covered were Isavasyopanishad, Kenopanishad and Mundakopanishad. Detailed analysis on each of the Upanishads brought about a lot of clarity for the seekers. Workshop for school students from Bahrain on Indian Cultural Values A group of 20 children from Bahrain had a week long workshop at CIF from 21st to 28th March 2008. The Children got introduced to Indian Culture, heritage. They went back enriched with values from Indian Traditions. Upanishad Workshop A group of 16 members from Thane discussed the significance of Upanishads under the guidance of Brni. Sandhya Chaitanya. Sri Adi Shankara Jayanthi Celebrated on 29th Apr, 2008 About 50 participants from Kerala were present for the programme. Lectures on the Philosophy and Relevance of Advaita was the highlight. Apart from scholarly discussions, time was also spent in reading and reciting the important Stotra literature of Adi Shankara. Workshop on Sadhana in Advaita Br. Amresh Chaitanya interacted with a group of 18 members from Tamilnadu on spiritual practices advocated in the Advaita Literature from 2nd to 8th May 2008. Mundakopanishad workshop 35 members from Trichy and Bangalore participated in the detailed learning of Mundakpanishad by Acharya Vibhuti Shah from Trichy and Kutashta Chaitanya from CIF from 12th to 18th May 2008. Two day seminar on Bhagwad Gita Chapter XII and Yati Panchakam A two day seminar on Bhagwad Gita Chapter XII and Yati Panchakam was organized under the leadership of Swami Tattwananda and Swami Viswananda from Kerala. 15 members participated in the intense programme from 12th to 13th July, 2008. Sanskrit Day Celebration The two day (18th and 19th July, 2008) programme was inaugurated by traditional scholar Dr.Pasupathy Nathan. Competitions on Sanskrit Essay writing, Recitation, Story Writing, Quiz etc were conducted. About 200 students from various schools in Kerala, Tamilnadu, Andhra and Karnataka participated in the various competitions. Upanishad Lahiri Workshop The annual Upanishad workshop by Swami Adhyatmananda from Calicut, Kerala, in Malayalam for the year 2008 was organized from 21st to 30th of July. The Upanishad taken up for discussion was Aitareyopanishad. The 35 members, who participated, benefited from the programme. Workshop on Advaita from 2nd to 20th Sept, 2008 Under the leadership of Br. Prasad Chaitanya from Andhra Pradesh, Adi Sankara's Dakshinamaurthy Stotram was taken up for study by 40 members. East meets West, A workshop on Vivekachudamani A workshop was conducted in Italian for the students from Italy and Switzerland by Father Massimo de Orlando from 15th to 21st of Sept, 08. The 10 member team found the study, interspersed with session on Meditation very valuable and rewarding. Two day introductory workshop on Anusaaraka Swami Nikhilananda inaugurated the two-day workshop on Anusaaraka in the month of September. 50 members from around the country participated in the workshop for this innovative linguistic project. Students Empowerment Programme The Students Empowerment Programme was conducted for the students from Chinmaya Institute of Technology, (CHINTECH), Kannur, Kerala from 19th to 25th Oct, 2008. 60 MBA Students and 4 teachers participated in the Empowerment Programme. Eminent Faculty members like Shri Venugopal C Govind ,Mr Damu, CEO, Tajmalabar, Sri Manomohan, Muthoott Capital, Mr Aniol Kumar, President Reliance, Sri S R Nair,Team Front Line were the faculty. Meditation by Swamini Niranjanananda and discourses on Indian Culture and Hinduism by Swami Advayananda added intellectual touch to the course. All Kerala Acharya Shastra Sadas Brahmasutra Study is taken up in these workshops of 3 day duration. Participants are the 20 Acharyas of Chinmaya Mission of Kerala Centres. From 5th to 7th Nov, 2008 the All Kerala Acharya Sastra Sadas under the guidance of Swami Viviktananda, Regional Head of Kerala was flagged off. Detail study of Shankar Bhasya is done with regular sessions every quarter. Highly beneficial for seekers of Knowledge, this first programme introducing the Brahmasutras was attened by 15 Acharyas. The follow up sessions were held from March 9th to 11th, 2009, Nov 2009, 8th to 10th Feb, 2010., January 12th – 14th 2011. Worskshop on Ashtavakra Geeta From 13th to 23rd Nov 2008, Swami Nikhilananda conducted a details study of Ashtavakra Geeta with 50 members from Delhi and North India. The students had an enriching experience of learning the deep aspects of Vedanta from it. Academic Textual Workshop on Nyaya and Mimasa A 15 day Textual Workshop on Nyaya, Mimamsa and Advaita Vedanta was conducted in collaboration with the ICPR, Delhi from 15th Dec - 29th Dec, 2008. Eminent scholars like Prof. R.Balasubramanian, Pro.V.N Jha, Prof.Ujjwala Jha, Prof. G.Mishra and Dr.Goda Venkatesha Sastri handled the sessions for about 40 persons. Students learning sanskrit, scholars participated in the workshop. Residential Camp on Niravanamanjari Swami Satyananda, Acharya of Chinmaya Mission Ernakulam, held a residential camp for 16 participants, on Nirvanamanjari of Sankaracharya. New releases 1.
