Vedic Mathematics workshop at B. C. M. Sr. Sec. School, Ludhiana.

Chinmaya International Foundation and School of Vedic Maths jointly organized a 5-day Course on Vedic Mathematics under the auspices of Chinmaya Mission Ludhiana at B.C.M. Sr. Sec School, Ludhiana, Punjab from 20th – 24th May 2012. The school was impressed with the Vedic Mathematics workshop conducted in Dec 2011 where 172 students had attended the class and had requested for this second course. Despite having their exams, 120 students attended the classes this time. The faculty, Shri Vinay Nair, taught topics like Easy Subtraction, Faster Multiplication, Squaring, Square Roots, a peep into Bhaskaracharya’s treatise Lilavati and conceptual understanding of Area. The students were thrilled to see the easy techniques of computations in Vedic Maths and felt proud of Indian culture when they learnt about Indian Mathematics and Mathematicians. The school has requested to conduct more workshops on Vedic Maths in future.
