Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF) is the heart and sinew of its founder sage Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda whose idea was to build a study and research centre to facilitate academic alliance among scholars across the globe and to bring out the ancient terms and terminologies employed in the Vedas to the context of the modern way of life.
He wanted to build a bridge to embrace the western minds with our heritage. CIF Shodha Sansthan (CIFSS) is a leading centre for advanced learning in Sanskrit and Indology in India with a good academic environment.
Manuscript section of CIFSS is a step towards preserving the ancient source of Indic knowledge. There are several manuscript libraries in our country. Unfortunately, there is no coordination among them. As a result, it is very difficult to retrieve information or copy of the manuscripts from the manuscript libraries for research purposes.
To bridge this big communication gap, and to ensure better coordination, we are planning to make our centre ‘a point of contact’ among the manuscript libraries and their users.
Chinmaya International Foundation Shodha Sansthan CIF Shodha Sansthan (CIFSS) has a reference Library that holds a carefully selected collection of about 22 thousand printed books and around 1800 non-printed manuscripts of paper and palm leaves in different scripts and languages. The book collection comprises of updated reference books, original texts of Sanskrit and commentaries on different subjects of Indology, bibliographies, monographs, catalogues of unpublished manuscripts of Indic and Asian origin, biographies and autobiographies, among other reference materials of encyclopaedias, dictionaries, journals, periodicals, etc.
The Library has covered almost all the subjects of Indology, Poetics, Dramaturgy, Sanskrit literature, Vyakarana, Subhashitas and Suktis, Arts and Humanities, Indian Mathematics, Tantras, Ayurveda, Silpa, Indian Philosophies, Vedas, Manuscriptology, Hindi literature, English literature, Malayalam literature and so on.

Testimonials
Varsha Bhattacharyya(Bhagavad Gita)
Very interesting and useful video discourse. Along with the written material, this gives a perceptive view of the Gita making one want to read and explore further. Am grateful to our revered Acharyas for their teachings.
Sudharsan SN(Upanishads)
The course has been a true eye-opener for me in several ways, most important of which is the emphasis on Brahmatmaikya. I am strongly encouraged to pursue more studies in the Vedantic field. The program is an excellent starting point and summary of the much larger ocean of Advaita Vedanta.
Kiron Bansal(Foundation Vedanta)
I am extremely privileged to have attended the online Foundation Course in Vedanta which exposed me to various aspects of Vedanta. The various study materials are of excellent quality and the concepts were explained in systematic and simple manner.Thank You!
