Chinmaya International Foundation brings you a webinar on Bhikshu Gita. The webinar will be facilitated by Smt. Shanthi Rammohan.
Sri Krishna taught his dear friend and devotee Uddhava spiritual knowledge in the form of the Uddhava Gita. The Bhikshu Gita is a part of this Uddhava Gita which appears in the 11th canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam.
Bhagavan Sri Krishna advises Uddhava to withdraw his mind from all worldly pursuits and remain focussed on the Self. When Uddhava felt that it would be difficult to practice mind control, Bhagavan Sri Krishna, through a story of a mendicant, explains how one can develop the elevating virtue of tolerance and thereby gain equanimity of the mind.
As the story progresses, the Bhikshu takes us through the harsh realities of the world and uplifts our minds to the Supreme Reality. His teaching gives each of us hope that the seemingly unattainable spiritual Goal is quite close to us if only we think deeper.
Highlights
How one can remain unperturbed by the world despite external circumstances and people
Know that sensory perception and its effects are unreal and its substratum alone is the absolute Truth to be realised
Helps one develop an elevating virtue of tolerance and thus gain control and equanimity of the mind
