‘Upadesha’ means teaching and ‘sara’ implies essence. The title, thus, means the essence of the teaching (of Vedanta). This beautiful composition, by Sri Ramana Maharshi, in thirty profound verses expounds the crux of the four paths to Realisation, karma-yoga, bhakti-yoga, ashtanga-yoga and jnana-yoga.
Upadesha-sara, originally addressed to yogins blindly following the path of purva-miamsa, is relevant to every seeker to gain clarity on the path and effectively follow the guidance to reach the ultimate goal of Realisation. The unique direct method of enquiry into ‘Who am I?’, as advised by Sri Ramana Maharshi, is the highlight of the text.
Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayanandaji’s commentary further simplifies the profound meaning of the text and brings out its essence in a very appealing way. The webinar sessions will be facilitated by Brni. Taarini Chaitanya. Prior knowledge of the basic concepts of Vedanta is not essential to enrol for the webinar.
Brni. Taarini's journey with Chinmaya Mission began in 2003 as a Chinmaya Yuva Kendra member in Margao, Goa. Inspired by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji’s teachings, she latched on to the opportunity to learn and serve in different centres of Chinmaya Mission including Chinmaya Vibhooti (Pune), Chinmaya Academy of Management (Chennai), and CCMT Publications Department (Mumbai). Later seeking further clarity, she joined the two years residential Vedanta course at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Mumbai from 2014-16. After completing the course Brni. Taarini served at CIF and Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth in Ernakulam, Kerala. She was initiated into brahmacharya deeksha in May 2022 and continues to do her svadhyaya and seva at CIF.
