Sri Adi Sankara is a saint, philosopher, poet, commentator, rejuvenator and social reformer, all rolled into one. Born in Kerala about two millennia ago, at the Melpazhur Mana, he grew up into a spiritual leader. His teachings were rooted in the Upanishadic thoughts. He was the pioneer who perpetuated the philosophy of Advaita Vedanta throughout the country and influenced the nation and the world so much so that India can be thought of as pre-Sankara and post-Sankara.
