Report

The annual Gita Jayanti Camp commenced on the auspicious day of Gita Jayanti, Tapovan Jayanti and Guruvayur Ekadashi on  Nov 30 2017. The camp was inaugurated by Pujya Swami Sharadananda ji , Chief Acharya  and Br. Ved Chaitanya, Upa Acharya of the camp. Sri. NM Sundar ji welcomed the campers and introduced the Acharyas to the campers.

Verses from Gita were selected and grouped under various topics like Fulfilment, Path to Fulfilment, Obstacles, Yoga –destroyer of all sorrows and so on. Swamiji took two sessions of Gita and one session on Leela Shuka ji’s Sri Krishnakarnamritam. Leela Shuka was a great devotee of Sri Krishna and it seems the Lord used to nod his head to give his consent as it were while composing every verse of Sri Krishnakarnamritam.

A fine blend of Jnana and Bhakti explained in a simple, yet profound way by Swamiji gave very deep insights into the topics.  Clarity in definition of technical terms combined with guidance for practical living leading towards the path to fulfilment was deeply appreciated by the Sadhaks.

Br. Ved Chaitanya led the interactive group discussion sessions. It was a great opportunity for the participants to gain clarity in their thought process with Ved ji answering all their questions relating with messages from Srimad Bhagavad Gita.

Most of the participants shared their camp experiences. In his valedictory address, Swamiji said it is important for us to think about our higher existence, but most of our time is spent on our external identification. In a place like Adi Sankara Nilayam which is blessed by Bhagavan Shankaracharya and Pujya Gurudev, one should feel the peace and joy flow through us and feel blessed. May Bhagavan Adi Shankaracharya bless us to remember what ever learnt and inspire us to practice in our lives. Swamiji  also thanked Home Study Courses for organising this camp

Br. Vedji said that grouping of verses from the Gita as different topics by Swamiji was a novel way of teaching the essence of Gita. Guru paduka puja was performed by Swamiji. Swamiji release the DVD on 'Panchadashi - Chapter 3 - Panchakosha Vivekah' during the function. The DVDs are recordings of chapter 3 of CIF's on-going webinar satsang on Panchadashi with Swami Advayananda. Smt. Radhika, Administrator of Home Study Courses gave the vote of thanks and expressed deep gratitude to the Acharyas for making the camp a successful one. Participation Certificate was distributed to all the campers and the camp concluded with Shanti paat, the closing prayers.
