Just like Arjuna threw a bow, I expressed what I felt to someone and how their actions affected me, and told them they do not need to respond (I was conflicted about sending it similar to Arjun as I was told what good will it do, but I guess I did it so that the truth is out in the open, no matter whatever the other person decides to do with that information) . Now, I really have to practice I did my karma and not worry of their response. Easier said than done but I am trying. I can take it as a sadhana, that I took action and left it at that for what happens happens.

I lose calmness while doing any action BECAUSE I do it with selfish motive and insisting on result of my desire . The same action when done as an offering to Lord and done without any expectation my mind is very calm .
By expecting any fruit of action while doing it , I cannot concentrate 100% on action as my mind is thinking of the result of action also and naturally it wavers , is not calm
Whatever results of the said action is , if I accept it as a prasad of Lord I feel happy .
Eshwararpan buddhi and Prasad buddhi makes my Sadhana

If we follow some points we can keep ourselves calm. 1...The world will not behave like how we want. 2...we have to keep checking our motives. 3...I want this i do not want this .Live with absolute clarity. 4...Swamiji said do not try to unsettle the minds of the ignorant.

Just to clarify, do not try to unsettle the minds of the ignorant, does that mean not try to explain/change the ignorant?

yes.since your question is how to keep calm and do action, better not to get into prolonged arguments.heated discussions etc.Do not try to change anybody.I agree with you.Easy to say.Slowly we have to raise ourselves from emotional level to wisdom and intelligence. This will help us to keep ourselves calm.

One of Gurudev's quotes that helps me is "Don't give the key of your happiness in someone else's hand". And if something is continuously bothering you another quote that really helps is "This too shall pass away".
And if none of these helped, then taking the Lord's name - japa - is most helpful. The power in the Lord's name is so high that it melts away all troubles. Once the mind quietens down after the japa, then reflecting upon the situation is helpful for being prepared for the next time.
Also the next time before facing the situation taking the Lord's name before, during and after the situation is very helpful to keep calm and handle things with an even mind. If this practice is done for small things first then it will become a habit and it will come handy in harder things later.
