This series of lectures were a part of the Summer School 'Kalāyoga' organized by the Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF) in collaboration with Karnataka Sanskrit University (KSU) and with support from Indian Council of Philosophical Research in July 2016. The lectures provide insights into the origin and philosophy of Indian Art and Aesthetics as described in the Indian classical literature. The topics cover kāvya-mārga (classical literary tradition), rasa-tattva (art enjoyment), dhvani-tattva (theory of suggestion), alaṅkāra and vakratā (ornamental and oblique speech) and chandas (prosody) with the appreciation of Kalidāsa as an ideal for kāvya-kalā-yoga.
