Mahishasura is a demon in the form of a buffalo that indicates our Ego and distractive mind.
Once when Mahishasura conquered all the Devas and started to destroy the equilibrium of the universe, the powers of all Devatas – the Divine energies – joined together to take the form of Jagadamba, destroyed Mahishasura and re-established the Divine order.
May Devi Bhagavati remove our false ego and distractions and bless us with the Bliss of true Self.
These discourses, in Malayalam, by Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati were recorded during the 2-year Vedanta Course conducted at Adi Sankara Nilayam during 2018-20.
